Farwell King of Pop

Michael Jackson(Aug 29, 1958) passed away suddenly on June 25, 2009 due to cardiac arrest.
Known as King of Pop, he was a singer since he was 11 years old. He was the first singer that I known on the MTV days, that was when I was a toddler. It was the time he released his record, Thriller. His later known records, HIStory and Dangerous were also hits. One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records—including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era—and the sales of over 750 million albums worldwide. Cited as one of the world's most famous men, Jackson's highly publicized personal life, coupled with his successful career, made him a part of popular culture for almost four decades.
My personal favorite songs: We are the World and You Are Not Alone.
Note: An autopsy will be done tomorrow.

Lately...

I would or can say not much had happened, but that is not really true.  i have quite a bit on my plate and usually I do try to blog here at least once a week with a picture or a thought.  Instead of those QaR's, I would like to be more random for this week.  This month will be my busiest month, since this is the month of Gay pride celebrations take place in many countries in honour of the Stonewall riots.  Father Day is on the 3rd Sunday of June.  High school graduates will be celebrating their milestone into their next journey.  Its also the beginning of summertime for folks to gather for outdoor sports: golf, swimming, barbecues, camping, traveling, hiking, taking photographs, carnivals and summer storms.  (that's not the good part)
My current project right now is: taking photographs of flowers and plants of garden(s) in near my surroundings.  For me, traveling is not much of a feasible thing to do, oh we know the pandemic(which I will not go into about)

Glass hold tells Personality

clipped from news.bbc.co.uk
Drinking types
The way you hold your glass can reveal much more than you might realise, a psychologist has warned.

Dr Glenn Wilson, a consultant psychologist, observed the body language of 500 drinkers and divided them into eight personality types.

These were the flirt, the gossip, fun lover, wallflower, the ice-queen, the playboy, Jack-the-lad and browbeater.

Healthy Lifestyles and Weight

Before I read this article, I went and listened on an author: Kate Harding on fat acceptance.  (Thats how I would say I conduct my life in someways.)  Her recent book: Lessons from the Fat-o-sphere said that obesity is not the biggest health problem, expect in extreme cases.  (I am not a health expert.)  I haven't been overweight before, but I do witness people with chubby or slim bodies do have a rough time to keep up their lifestyles.  Its work after your workday. Not that we don't enjoy our workouts, but if its work, we need to find a routine or food that we do enjoy, so that healthy lifestyles would not wane after a while.  It would be understandable that somedays you would not have the whole hour to do your workout or eat a complete hearthy meal, but self-esteem has to do a great deal with your weight, would you think?

Pondering: Universal Healthcare

On my daily readings of my blogs, one of my stumble upons:
Are Patients in Universal Healthcare Countries Less Satisfied?
Firstly, one already know that this article is pro-Universal healthcare. Secondly, you got to know me, I am a Canadian, therefore, do receive Universal healthcare. Thirdly, some of the facts are not exactly correct: Canada is single-payer with provinces deciding how health care is spent and strict limits on private care, prescription drugs are heavily subsidized. Single-payer, hmm, not all provinces are prescribed to that and prescription drugs are cheap at all, they are so pricey! arrgh! How we define universal healthcare means ease of access to doctors, which is an universal problem as population grows older. Thats actually a worldwide problem! The schooling for being a doctor or going to the specialties are not cheap in North American colleges/universities. How do we expect, universal access, when doctors are lured away to more profitable jobs? (consulting)
Meanwhile, for the poor folks, access for ID are in a sad state, therefore, there goes universal healthcare. For others, distance could be the barrier, mobility could be an issue, languages or unknown issues to medical staff could be the reasons. In terms of waiting times, it would have to go back to the above issue: training staffs, hiring people and efficiency of the locales.
As a result, money does a lot of talking and bottom line does matter. How sad.
Above blog is the opinion of selected anonymous conversations this blogger had in number of occasions with unnamed medical professionals who used to work in the field. Some were based on Canadian newspaper: GlobeandMail and TheStar.
